I have been following the recent runways and salon trends in New York to Los Angeles, and there is one thing that is apparent: winter 2025-2026 is about Ideas that are elegant but still have an element of fantasy. To achieve that perfect contrast, I apply nude Gel base and make those black curves with thin liner brush and seal with a glossy top coat. It is a matter of steady hands-and perhaps patience.

This gradient is not as difficult to develop as it appears. I base it with Dark Gel then apply sponge silver glitter half way up then apply simple white petals on the top with a fine brush. Apply some dots of turquoise to provide contrast and then use top coat.

Golden crisscross ribbons red and white-what could be more perfect holiday? The Cute Gel short manicure has a cute gift-wrapped look that suits any winter mood during office days and other times during the month of Christmas at a dinner table.
In order to reproduce it, the cross patterns should be traced with the help of gold striping tape or glitter liner, and the cross patterns should be applied with alternating layers of scarlet and ivory Polish. Seal up to make the lines straight.

To achieve this flawless snowy appearance, I tend to go to a long-lasting Polish such as the “Alpine Snow” by OPI or CND Shellac Cream Puff. After it is dry I use silver stamping plates or draw my own snowflakes with metallic paint. The tips are touched with a little glitter powder of silver which gives a frosty fade that is ethereal.
Nail guru Tom Bachik has once said, Winter whites are strong ones, they narrate tales of innocence and self-assurance. And I couldn’t agree more. When I put on this manicure, it seems that my hands are covered with snowlight, beautiful and elegant, and luxurious without any noise.
Burgundy Gold Luxe
Dark burgundy Gel nails with gold foil streaks – this is pure luxury at work. The Dark shade is rich and the molten gold is dramatic and makes the manicure look maniacal and royal. It is the type of appearance that suits well with bulky sweaters, leather gloves or a glass of red wine in front of the fire.
I replicate this by applying a Gel base of deep merlot colour such as OPI in the shade of Got the Blues for Red and then drawing a thin line of gold chrome polish over the middle of each nail and sealing it with a shiny top coat. Should you want a long-wearing version, there is a Dip version with the same color that makes it rich, but not much to be chipped off.
In my own case, this is my winter armor, bright, luxurious, and classic. It is not a Design it is an expression of mood: powerful, cozy, and prepared to whatever the season may bring.
Deep Cherry Allure
Deep cherry nails in winter have a kind of perennial quality to them – that rich velvety gel polish, which immediately brings to my mind red wine and candlelight. I normally put on two layers of the primary cherry shade and I finish it with a top coat to fix the high-shine mirror finish. In my case with the accent nail, I like a thin coat of glitter gel, which is dotted lightly to prevent streaking. When I want something celebratory but not too much, I go to it.
Whenever I put on this shade, I get the feeling of the slightest confidence that winter can give me- quiet, calm, but warm. It is my moment of a glass of wine on holidays on nails.
Violet Magnetic Waves
This is one of my favorite gel concepts that I would use in winter, a mysterious, modern blend of plum and metallic purple that nearly shifts under the light like velvet. The magnetic shimmer creates an illusion of waves, which reminds me of the northern sky auroras.
To achieve this appearance, I am a fan of Cat Eye Gel Polish in a dark amethyst. You will have to have a magnet stick to drag that light-reflecting pigment into those beautiful curvy lines. The trick here is to use the second coating, and place the magnet in a diagonal position and freeze the light pattern before it dries.
It is not your ordinary basic gel short manicure, it is motion picture art. And, frankly, it always makes me feel that I have just left a winter night party, despite the fact that I am only wearing a warm sweater at home.
Bronze Glow Elegance
The brown colors are reentering the scene in a massive manner this winter and this shinny bronze gel polish demonstrates how decadent they can be. The slight gloss makes what would otherwise be a dull solid manicure look like molten metal, shinning softly in artificial light.
To do this, I combined Gelish Bronzed Beauty with a top coat which adds to the richness of sparkle. I adore the fact that it goes well with warm up knits and gold jewelry – my dream pairing in cold mornings.

I have always been a fan of the appearance of this design, which is festive and at the same time wearable, not too thematic, a winter statement. The secret is to apply with a fine brush and a steady hand those fine snowflakes, and to cover them with a matte or glossy top colour, according to the temper.

Born Pretty Chameleon Powder on a jet-black base gave me that smooth transition between gold and violet. It is unbelievably simple to do at home with a sponge applicator and time – the reward is stunning.
Whenever the light strikes these nails, I get the impression that it is a New Year celebration on my fingertips. Certainly not a daily dress-up – but winter evenings are to be spent in such a way.
Frosty Blue Snowflakes
What is so attractive about this design is its serenity – blue matte bottom and the snowflakes of the pure white color are drawn in the perfect lines. It is very small, very classy, and so wintry that you nearly hear the snow falling.
It is best suited to people who like short nails and plain designs, but would like something that is party-like. I applied the snowflakes on OPI, Check out the Old Geysirs, as the foundation and white gel paint.
Such appearance is perfectly combined with warm-up sweaters and hot cocoa time – simple, yet so right in winter 2025-2026.
Lavender Mist Ombre
This light lavender ombre would be my description of winter calmness. The tone between lilac and pale nude is airy, as morning sunlight on frozen windows.
To achieve this appearance, I resorted to the sponge blending technique by combining Gelish You So Sweet You Giving me a Toothache and a sheer beige. It is so fine, and ideal to those who want simple but dreamy gel nails this season.
There is an understated grace in this color – it speaks winter grace rather than proclaims it.
Silver-Edged Crimson
This bare minimum short manicure is a form of sophistication in its simplest form. The delicate silver cuticle line on a red base makes it provide a slight nod of festivity without being overly loud enough, a design that is equally effective at a holiday dinner as it is at a business meeting.
The technique I employed to make it is to apply Essie A-List as the base polish and apply the silver detail using a fine brush that has been dipped into metallic chrome gel. It is graceful, accurate and insanely contemporary.
I have worn it several times, and each time it makes me feel that quiet confidence, as red lipstick on the hands.
Mulberry and Lilac Contrast
It is something about this two-tone manicure that immediately makes one feel that it is modern but soft. The deep mulberry is a great match with the pastel lilac, and the gel polish combination is a chic and confident look. It is one of those adorable little glances that can be easily changed into dashing evening arrangements to warm-up clothes.
In order to get this appearance, I applied Essie Full of Gratitude to the lilac color and OPI Mrs. O Learys BBQ to the wine color. Each of the two coats has a glossy layer on top and this is the perfect balance of bold and tender.
I wear this design every time I need to add some color to my winter clothes, it is both charming and sophisticated.
Frozen Blue Ombre
It is a simple gel short manicure that is like the ocean turning into glass. The gentle shade of blues, icy baby blue to dark navy, is the ideal shade to describe the calmness of winter mornings. It is smooth, serene, and impossible to be graceful.
In this design, my favorite Shellac is CND Shellac, Creekside, and Gelish, Midnight Caller, mixed with a sponge to achieve such a gradient. It is a concept that can be reproduced even by a novice, but it appears to be a professional job.
I always feel that warm, relaxing sensation when I put it on I feel like I have wrapped myself in a big scarf and going out into the cool air.
Royal Plum Marble
This royal plum marble design is created to suit you in case you love mysterious and dark tones. It is gloomy and fashionable simultaneously, and soft black swirls are running through smooth plum gel polish.
I used a second coat when the first was still a bit tacky and then swirled the darker lines of gel with a thin brush to make the marble. Once cured, there is a top coat of high gloss that renders everything glass smooth.
It is among my favorite evening gel designs, not too dramatic, but still dramatic, and completely winter-perfect.
Rose Chrome Snowflakes
When combined with the delicateness of snowflake accents, soft metallics never go out of fashion. This rose-chrome manicure is dreamy, elegant, and festive enough, yet not too festive.
To achieve the flawless mirror finish, I applied Born Pretty Chrome Powder on top of a rose-gel base, and sealed it with CND Shellac Top Coat Xpress5. The accent nails are painted with white snowflakes in fine art brush.
It is one of those gel concepts that appear costly and fragile simultaneously – one that is used during winter weddings or intimate dinners.
Emerald Cat Eye
The design embodies all the alluringness of cat-eye gel: the light reflection that dances with the light, like a frozen lake in the moon. The green colour provides it with a classy twist and renders it genteel and attractive.
I applied a magnetic polish in a deep teal color to achieve this appearance, and that is by holding the magnet at a diagon. Apply a glossy top coat to make it as deep as possible.
It is strong, smooth and too wintry, one of my favorite dark gel designs to put on when I want my nails to feel like jewelry.
Gold and Teal Star Accent
It has a vintage quality to combining solid jewel with metallics. The deep teal and vintage gold mix makes this appearance look vintage glamour that is celebratory and elegant at the same time. The small starburst motif is the right amount of glitter to be special.
To replicate it, I applied Essie “Go Overboard” and OPI “Gold Digger” and completed with a fine liner on the shapes of the stars. The top coats are a combination of matte and glossy which creates a surprising texture contrast.
It is one of those acrylic short or almond-shaped looks that are not easy to peel off at home but are expensive.
Wine with Holographic Edge
Traditional and high tech, so to speak, that is what I would say about this gel polish design. The dark wine color is romantic and the accent nail is a holographic and is a fun and modern touch that reflects all the light.
I used Gelish in the shade of Berry Buttoned Up as the primary color, and the accent holographic comes in CND in the shade of Aurora Dust. It is an excellent illustration of how the mere details can make a statement out of a classic color.
This is the kind of appearance that suits warm evenings or special winter parties – where a touch of glitter is much.
Mauve Wine Ombre
The soft ending of this gradient of mauve and wine colors is effortlessly romantic. It is classy, yet not overstated a smooth mixture of coziness and light nuances that can be worn on an ordinary basis.
I applied a sponge ombre with CND Shellac field fox and OPI Malaga wine and mixed the two colors till they fused. Everything is beautifully bound together by a thin glossy top coat.
This gradient, dip-inspired appearance is a fresh, cozy and infinitely wearable look, which is precisely how I would prefer my nails in winter to appear.
