Every year as the seasons change, I always go back to the question: What is new for nails? This year is the first time I have seen so much change in the trends for nails in the fall. Every year, the nails are more and more daring, much more darker, and are even beginning to have a large amount of new ideas. All styles are sure to fit the fall vibes we look for in September.

Soft Metallic Elegance

On the nails with the cozy sweaters, I see little pieces of light that look like autumn sunsets Bingo! You’ve got the perfect match.
Fierce Retro Swirls
You can tell fall nails are now in style. Now we are ready to really bring the style to the next level. The bold oranges and intense reds look awesome as they intertwine with the bold ‘lava’ like patterns they form. It feels full of creative energy and still fits nicely into the popular fall color palette.
For these nails, I start with warm orange Opi gel bases and layer in with bright red. I find with these colors I really get the flame effect I want. I like to finish it off with a glossy topcoat that adds a little more flow and depth to the pattern. It’s as if the perfect flames are dancing right on your fingers.
Yeah, it might take longer. But the end game is always worth it. It reminds me of Bonfire night with friends. The pop, the heat, the effervescence, the illuminations. These nails are flashy, yet they are certainly also, appropriate if you like bold. Who wouldn’t want nails that are like a talking piece?
Dark Marble Magic
I always want to go darker for fall, and this black with teal marble is certainly dark enough, and for 2025, it is the mood. The nails are like a black bottom with teal shiny marble that drizzled over, it is matte black with shiny black marble x, and it has depth and drama, and you see something new the longer you look at it.
For the products, I suggest the deep, black, green polish and a chrome teal, shimmering for the veins to go with it, and a few lines to look like you know what you’re doing. A detailing brush is a small paintbrush that is the best thing to have since it is thin and swirly and helps with the ‘veining’.
I love that this style is also also slick and polished. It is not all black all the way, but people can still go full on murder mystery and people wouldn’t even know the difference. It is the type of manicure that I wear anywhere, and for an art exhibit at night and then dinner downtown right after, for example, is the best. It says, I am in charge, without even saying it.
Emerald With Gold Stripes
